At some point since COVID started I seem to have accidentally picked up a new mantra. I feel like having a personal mantra is maybe a bit cheesy (especially this one) and isn't something I was *trying* to do.But at some point during COVID, when it felt like all I had was social distancing and chaos stretching out in front of me, I realized my capacity to evolve. I finished my degree at 32. Got into bourbon at ~30. Started traveling again at 28. Became, kind of an awesome cook at ~31. Bought my first home at 29. I also only in the last twoish years became really committed to regular exercise and have managed to stick with that for, now years."Old dog learning new tricks" became the muttered refrain in my subconscious as I realized that settling down into certain interests or habits, although maybe expected when you hit "stable adulthood" is not necessary, not anything that should limit me. In deciding to leave the US, I decided to embark on the ultimate test to how well I can adapt, how well I can pivot completely from what I expected my life to be.
